Looks like we are going to have scattered thunderstorms and lightning at tomorrow nights game. Hopefully this will damped the fans at Saprissa.
The field is field turf that was placed in 2004. This is an old field and missed the upgrades field turf has improved with. The field will be slick.
I see the USA bunckering down even more with the weather and the unpredictability of the field.
Costa Rica is 18-1-2 at Saprissa since 2000. This is the last chamce the yanks have to beat then in this formitable stadium. Saprissa Stadium is set to be closed next year when the new national stadiums opens. Saprissa Stadium is like the old Boston Garden...It's old and creapy, run down but you can feel the history in it when you are there. The crowd is on top of you and they let you know it.
The local papers have trumped the game up as the top 2 teams in CONCACAF....since they are ahead in the hex. The papers are also pointing out the dominant record not just against the yanks but every one who ventures in this fortress.
For Tico fans it will be like closing Yankee Stadium, closing RFK Stadium or closing the Montreal Forum with the great memories the national team provided the nation...
Saprissa should be rocking....even with the rain storm approaching......
This should be one of the more memorable games the yanks will have.......
